El Valle Golf Resort is in the Region of Murcia in the south-east of Spain and within the municipality of Murcia, close to the town of Sucina, about a 20 minute drive inland from the Mar Menor.

 

The Mar Menor is Europe’s largest saltwater lagoon and is separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow spit of land, so although the water is still salty it is non-tidal. This provides superb sailing conditions and safe bathing, with dozens of soft sandy beaches which slope very gently into the water.

 

This stretch of coastline is known as the Costa Cálida, or warm coast, Murcia being the warmest mainland region of Spain throughout the year. 

 

El Valle Golf Resort is located on the C-3319 road which leads to the Mar Menor coast at San Javier, the nearest towns being Sucina to the east and Roldán and Balsicas 15 minutes to the south, offering a choice of services and facilities for everyday living. Sucina has a range of basic shops and a small supermarket, with medical and pharmacist facilities also available and  further basic services can be found in the small local towns of Los Baños and Los Martínez del Puerto.

 

El Valle Golf Resort is about a 20-minute drive from the coastal town of San Javier, which has beaches on both the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean coast.

 

The capital city of Murcia is about 20 minutes to the north, and the major coastal port of Cartagena is about half an hour away to the south, all of them easy to reach on the Region’s motorway network.

 

The resort is one of six Polaris Nicklaus trail resorts, all within an easy drive, so there are 5 other quality golf courses on these resorts alone, and a least 8 within a half-hour drive from the resort.

 

Hiring a car is highly recommended for anyone considering visiting the resort on holiday. The use of seat belts is obligatory in Spain, and all children under the age of 12 must be secured in cars using child seats and restraints, so make sure to advise car hire companies of child ages if booking a rental car for family use.

Alicante airport is a 1-hour drive from the resort while the Region of Murcia International Airport is just 20 minutes away.
