What’s on in Aguilas December 2023
The festive season brings with it a host of shows, activities and fun to the south-west of Murcia!
The Christmas lights are now on and while the snow in Águilas is unlikely to be lying deep and crisp and even the atmosphere is a distinctly festive one as Santa takes his sleigh in for the annual ITV check-up and fills up the reindeer with a fresh tank of whatever they drink!
The streets of the town are filled with shoppers stocking up on presents and seasonal fare, and at the same time the schedule of ever-popular guided tours is barely interrupted by the season of Advent.
The full Christmas, New Year and Three Kings program in Águilas this year can be found here.
For further information on these and other events, as well as places to see and visit throughout the municipality, contact the tourist office of Águilas or visit the home page of Águilas Today.
NOTE: This schedule is likely to be updated as the month progresses!

The route includes the Monument to the Railway, the bridge over the Rambla de las Culebras, the Sendero del Hornillo and the museum which has been created in the railway tunnel, which led to the Embarcadero del Hornillo loading jetty.

Every Saturday morning, visit the iconic Embarcadero del Hornillo railway loading jetty
The iconic 120-year-old railway loading jetty of the Embarcadero de Hornillo has recently been opened to visits from members of the public as of June 3. The first phase of the project to restore the jetty was completed during the spring and much of its former glory (and structural stability) has been recovered.
As a result non-guided visits are now permitted, taking place during October on Saturdays between 11.00 and 13.00. This timetable is susceptible to modification according to demand. Registration for these free visits is currently through the Águilas tourist office only but it is hoped that an online facility is soon to be added.
Saturday December 30, Guided tour of the Hornillo jetty and surrounding area with Inmaculada Mondéjar
This visit starts and 11.00, lasting around 2 hours, includes the jetty itself, the interior of the railway tunnel (now a museum space) and the mineral deposit areas. The cost of the tour is 6 euros for adults (free for under-10s). A minimum of 10 people is required for the visit to go ahead.
