ARCHIVED - Sunday 29th March Sendalhama guided walking route, leaving from Alhama de Murcia
These walks are run by the council of Alhama de Murcia
Registration opens on the 4th February for the first two routes in the 2020 cycle:
Route 1: SIERRA ESPUÑA 1. Abuznel.'Trees, calares (run-offs, gulleys) and stories of the southern slopes of Spain. Sunday 16th February
• Route 2: LA MUELA-CABO TIÑOSO. Sunday 29th March
We return once again to the seductive area of paraje de cabo Tiñoso, to pick up where we left off in 2018.
Our objective on this walk is to cover the stretch of coastline known as the calas de Boletes, or Boletus coves, el Grande and el Chico as they are better known. This is an unforgettable route, dressed with spring foliage and boasting unforgettable views.
This is a circular route covering 8.2 kilometres which starts and concludes in the collado de Boletes. Duration: 3.5 hours, stopping to eat breakfast. The difficulty level is considered to be low-medium. Return to Alhama at around 14:00.
The Town Hall of Alhama de Murcia has opened registration for the first two walks in the 2020 edition of the popular “Sendalhama” guided walks programme, which gives members of the public a chance to discover spectacular, beautiful and often relatively unknown locations in the countryside of the Region of Murcia.
As in previous years, registration will be open for two of the routes at a time as the year progresses. If you are interested in participating in either of these two routes, then book now as places are limited.
Priority is given to residents of the municipality.
Registration can be completed at the Tourist Office of Alhama, which is open from Tuesday to Friday between 09.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00 and on Saturdays from 10.00 to 13.00. The cost to all walkers over the age of ten is 3 euros.
For safety reasons numbers are limited on each walk to a maximum of 75, and at the same time each person visiting the tourist office can register a maximum of three others, supplying complete personal details of each (name, ID number, age, phone number and email address). Walkers are asked to bring along the exact amount of cash needed when they visit the tourist office.
All roiutes depart at 08:00 from the recinto ferial in Alhama (the large parking area at the back of the Parque Cubana) unless otherwise advised.
Transport by minibus is included in the price, but walkers are requested to ensure that they are suitably attired for walking, carry around1.5 litres of water per person plus breakfast, and carry some sort of proptective clothing suitable for cooler conditions, as well as wearing suncream, hat and sunglasses.
