Click HereOn Thursday 19th March 2020 Order SND/257/2020 was published on Spain’s Official State Bulletin (BOE), concerning the temporary closure to the public of tourist accommodation establishments.
The Order establishes the following measures:
Suspension of opening to the public of tourist accommodation establishments (first article)
The suspension of opening of all hotels and similar accommodation, including tourist accommodation other short-term accommodation, campsites, caravan parks and similar establishments, throughout the whole of the country.
As an exception, it is permitted for security, vigilance and maintenance services to continue in these establishments.
Long-stay and seasonal tourist accommodation (second article)
Those tourist establishments included in the first article of this order which are housing guests who, when the state of emergency was decreed, were established as guests for a long period, will be allowed to remain open to the public as long as the guests have at their disposal the facilities within their own living areas to carry out the essential activities as established by Royal Decree 463/2020 of 14th March, by which the state of emergency caused by the need to tackle the health crisis caused by Covid-19 was established. However, new guests may not be accepted at these establishments until the suspension mentioned in the previous article has ended.
Closure procedure (third article)
The closure established in the first article shall occur as soon as establishments no longer have any customers to serve and within a maximum of seven calendar days from the date on which this Order comes into force.
The Order came into force on its publication in the BOE on 19th March 2020.
