Four deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours
The Spanish Ministry of Health has notified a significant number of new infections in Spain on Wednesday with 257 new cases in the last 24 hours compared to 124 on Tuesday and 78 on Monday.
This is more than triple the figures from Monday and a hundred more than yesterday, most of the new cases relating to regions of Spain in which outbreaks have occurred and brings the number of people infected with the coronavirus from the start of the pandemic up to 252,513.
Aragon, with 60 cases is the highest figure, followed by Catalonia with 52 and Galicia with 35, as a consequence of the outbreaks of Bajo Cinca, Segrià and A Mariña from Lugo.
Madrid has recorded 35 new cases and Andalusia, where there have been a number of smaller outbreaks, has reported 28. An outbreak in Ordizia has pushed up the number of infections in the Basque Country by 12.

There have been four deaths in the last 24 hours and nine in the last seven days, of which four are in the Community of Madrid. The remainder are Andalusia 1; Aragón 1; Castilla y León 1; Basque Country 2.
