ARCHIVED - Saturday 7th March Los Alcázares: Free guided cycling route around open-air urban art museum
Urban bicycle routes in Los Alcázares offer a mixture of history and urban art
On Saturday 7th March 2020 the Los Alcázares municipality continues with its programme of guided urban cycling routes to see some of the urban art within the municipality as well as visit some of its most attractive corners. There are now more than 150 murals in this impressive open-air collection, spread around the urban areas of the municipality, some by internationally renowned artists.
The route departs from alongside the tourist information office at 10:00.
Along the ride those taking part will be able to learn something of the history of the municipality of Los Alcázares as well as view the more modern pieces of urban art which the municipality is adding to different parts of the urban area.
Commentary is in Spanish and the route is aimed at a family audience, the aim being to enjoy the scenery by bicycle rather than breaking any cycling records.
All ages welcome and its free; just bring your own bike. If you haven´t got one and would like to borrow one, then contact the tourist office after booking and bicycles will be provided free of charge.
The route takes approximately two hours, so it is advisable to carry water and wear a protective hat, suncream and sunglasses.
The route is offered on the following dates during 2020: March 7th, April 4th, May 2nd, June 6th and 20th, September 5th and 19th, October 3rd, November 7th, December 5th.
