ARCHIVED - November 27 Bike ride against Gender Violence in Los Alcazares
Los Alcázares invites cyclists of all abilities to cycle against Gender Violence this month
On Sunday November 27 in Los Alcázares, there will be a bike ride through the municipality to raise awareness about the fight against gender violence.
The Department of Sports and Social Policy of the City Council of Los Alcazares have organized this bike ride in partnership with the cycling team ‘Grupo Deportivo’ to give visibility to the problem of domestic violence.
The bike ride will run along the seafront promenade of Los Alcázares, starting at 11am from the Paseo Carrión with Telegrafos and ending in the Plaza Alejandro Gómez Moreno. It will last for approximately one hour and will be suitable for cyclists of all ages.
At the end, at around 12pm, the traditional “planting of the rose bush” ceremony will take place in the Plaza Alejandro Gómez Moreno. There will also be a prize draw for all participants.
Registration is free and can be made between November 7 and 18 at the Centro Integral de Servicios Sociales y Mujer CISSMU (Avenida del Ferrocarril), or on the day of the event from 10am next to the starting line.
The Town Hall of Los Alcázares will carry out this and other activities on the occasion of the Day Against Gender Violence, which is commemorated annually on November 25.
“We are organising an extensive programme to raise awareness and put the spotlight on this common enemy against which we must continue to fight,” said Los Alcázares’s Councillor for Social Services, Francisco Javier Pacheco. “In the coming days we will announce the full programme.”
