ARCHIVED - No heat alerts for Murcia, but 38 provinces of Spain are on alert for high temperatures
Murcia has no heat alerts, but temperatures are rising again elsewhere
38 provinces of Spain are on alert for high temperatures again today, but Murcia is not amongst them;
Orange warning levels (important risk) are in place for: Córdoba, Jaén, Seville, Ávila, Zamora, Toledo, Cáceres, Badajoz, Lugo, Orense and Vizcaya.
Yellow notices (risk) have been activated in: Almería, Granada, Huelva, Huesca, Zaragoza, Teruel, Asturias, Cantabria, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Valladolid, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Lérida, La Coruña, Pontevedra, Madrid, Navarra, Álava, Guipúzcoa, Vizcaya and La Rioja.
For Murcia state meteorological agency Aemet forecasts slightly hazy cloud cover in the morning, high clouds and clear skies for the remainder of the day this Thursday, with temperatures at normal levels for the beginning of August, so although there are extreme heat alerts in other areas of Spain, Murcia is not included.
Temperatures are climbing slightly but not significantly. Winds are from the East and are fairly weak.
Maximum temperatures as follows: Murcia City and the Segura River valley, 34 in the far north and Yecla, 33 in the north-west, with Caravaca in the centre at 35, 34 in Lorca and the south-west and 30 in Cartagena and around the Mar Menor.
Minimum temperatures; Murcia City and the Segura River valley, 21 in the far north and Yecla, 17 in the north-west, with Caravaca in the centre at 16, 18 in Lorca and the south-west and 24 in Cartagena and around the Mar Menor.
Average temperatures are between 24-26 across most of the region (see visual 2).
