ARCHIVED - NIE offices (Jefatura Superior de Policía) re-open in Murcia region
The DNI offices of the Jefatura Superior de Policía de Murcia have re-opened
Prior booking is essential
The Covid crisis brought administrative processes to a complete halt on the 14th March when the state of emergency was first decreed, but slowly the wheels have once again begun to turn.
The latest offices to re-open are those of the Jefatura Superior de Policía de Murcia which process requests relating to NIE documentation and passports.
The offices have a significant backlog as it is estimated that around 50,000 passports and NIE documents have expired nationally, although any NIEs which have expired during this period have been granted a one year extension.
Anyone caught out by the state of emergency who was in the process of obtaining NIE documentation can now do so one again.
It is important to pre-book due to the backlog.
The pre-booking section of the site had crashed on Monday afternoon, but normally is available via this link:Click here. (www.citaparaeldni.es)

Anyone going to the offices in Murcia, Cartagena, Molina de Segura, Lorca, Alcantarilla or Yecla should ensure they arrive promptly for the appointment, take the exact money required and wear a mask. It is requested that only those with an appointment go to the offices in order to avoid overcrowding.
