The masterpiece by Puccini the Auditorio Infanta Elena in Águilas

<span style='color:#780948'>ARCHIVED</span> - March 24 Turandot opera including Nessun Dorma in Aguilas Turandot is one of the masterpieces of opera penned by Giacomo Puccini, although in this instance it was left unfinished at the time of his death and was completed by Franco Alfano before being performed for the first time at La Scala in Milan on 25th April 1926.

This 3-act work includes the Nessun Dorma aria, which was made famous to a wider audience by Luciano Pavarotti during the 1990 World Cup, and is based on a work by the great Persian poet Nezami. It tells the story of seven princesses, one of whom becomes a recluse until a man worthy of her hand can solve a series of riddles, and Puccini’s opera is based on a version of this story by Friedrich Schiller.

The performance in Águilas on March 24 begins at 20.00 with tickets available at 35 euros from the Museo Arqueológico, the Casa de la Cultura and at the auditorium box office in the two hours before the show begins. Alternatively, online booking is available here.
