ARCHIVED - Fines will follow for those who have already climbed over fence protecting Bolnuevo erosions
What part of “this fence is here to stop you entering this area” do they find so difficult to understand???????
At the end of August thousands was spent trying to protect the public from falling lumps of unstable rock and to protect the fragile Bolnuevo erosions from damage caused by human hand, by the erection of a fence, designed to permit the public to view the erosions but not climb all over them.
However, already, some members of the public are already finding the concept of a fence which is plastered with warning signs too difficult for their tiny brains to comprehend and have started climbing over the fence regardless.
To be fair, it is a piddling little fence and it’s incomprehensible that so much money should have been spent on something which is obviously inadequate for the job and won’t even keep a determined rabbit away from the erosions, never mind a long-legged human, but it is still a fence and is a sufficiently obvious “keep out” warning to do the job in most cases.
Exasperated police are now issuing fines to those who think that the warnings apply to everybody except themselves and have started climbing over the fence to take selfies, disregarding the signs warning them not to.
Bolnuevo lies within the Mazarrón municipality.
