Expect highs of 37 degrees again this week: Alicante weather forecast July 22-25

Weather warnings on Wednesday July 24

While many parts of Spain enjoyed slightly cooler temperatures over the weekend, the mercury really ramped up in Alicante province and there’s going to be very little respite over the next few days. The week will begin a bit cooler but this break will last a mere 24 hours before the mercury shoots back up to the high-30s.

Monday July 22

According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Monday will be mostly clear with a smattering of high clouds. Daytime temperatures will drop significantly compared to Sunday, from 33 to 31ºC in the case of Alicante city.

The wind will be light and variable, with moderate intervals on the coast.

Alcoy: 19ºC to 32ºC

Alicante: 24ºC to 31ºC

Denia: 22ºC to 31ºC

Elche: 23ºC to 32ºC

Orihuela: 22ºC to 33ºC

Tuesday July 23

Inland areas of Valencia have been issued a yellow alert for extreme temperatures on Tuesday but in Alicante, the mercury will continue to rise at a less dramatic rate. The day will be clear and bright again with blustery intervals in coastal areas.

Alcoy: 21ºC to 35ºC

Alicante: 23ºC to 31ºC

Denia: 22ºC to 32ºC

Elche: 20ºC to 32ºC

Orihuela: 21ºC to 34ºC

Wednesday July 24

Wednesday will be hottest day of the week so far, with thermometers soaring into the high 30s across the board. While it will be another cloudless day in most parts, it will become overcast in northern Alicante in the afternoon and there’s a chance of some isolated showers.

A yellow weather alert has been activated along the northern Alicante coast for high temperatures.

Alcoy: 23ºC to 37ºC

Alicante: 23ºC to 34ºC

Denia: 23ºC to 34ºC

Elche: 22ºC to 35ºC

Orihuela: 21ºC to 37ºC

Thursday July 25

The heat will ease off by a couple of degrees pretty much everywhere on Thursday and the north of the province is still under threat from isolated showers. Elsewhere it will be mostly clear or partly cloudy with a stiff breeze in coastal areas.

Alicante: 25ºC to 31ºC

Denia: 22ºC to 32ºC

Elche: 22ºC to 34ºC
