Click HereBased on the legend of Don Juan, this opera was first performed at the National Theatre of Bohemia in 1787 and is viewed as one of Mozart’s finest achievements as well as one of the greatest operas ever written. This performance features the soloists, choir and orchestra of Ópera 2001 in collaboration with the Opera de Massy.
Don Giovanni, aided by his servant Leporello, attempts to seduce Donna Anna and kills her father before fleeing the young woman’s suitor Don Ottavio. He meets a previous lover, Donna Elvira, and continues his escape until reaching a village wedding, where he seduces a young girl named Zerlina.
However, Zerlina escapes from his clutches before he too flees as his enemies close in. HIs next strategy is to exchange clothes with Leporello to evade Donna Elvira, but eventually he encounters a statue of the father of Donna Anna, who comes to life and exacts his revenge on the unscrupulous Don Giovanni.
This production uses the original Italian libretto of Lorenzo da Ponte.
The performance on December 8 begins at 20.00 with tickets priced at 15, 20, 25 and 30 euros and available online here – tickets are selling well, book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
