Click HereFor the third year in a row an invitation has been issued by the Mental Health Association of Águilas for members of the public to gift works of art to friends and relatives for Christmas, specifically making use of the generous donations of artists Pilar Espinosa and José Luis Pérez.
The AFEMAC association opens its “RegalArte, regala arte por Navidad” on December 5 at 19.30 in the Salón de los Espejos of Águilas casino, giving people a chance to purchase one of the items on display and in this way to contribute to a highly deserving local charitable cause.
Pilar Espinosa is a self-taught artist who became interested in ceramic art over 35 years ago, setting up her own workshop and taking part in numerous exhibitions and collaborative ventures over the years. In addition, she has recently branched out into jewellery, using not only clay but also natural elements such as snail shells and fragments of glass, crystal and stone.
Meanwhile, José Luis Pérez started his artistic career with a series of national prizes and exhibitions and has become a well-known figure not only locally but across the country. He works in many media including painting and ceramics and has contributed to numerous charitable causes in recent decades.
The RegalArte exhibition can be visited from December 5 to 10 at the Casino between 17.00 and 21.00.
AFEMAC runs a day care centre at Rambla del Charco, nº 4 in Águilas.
