CAM Murcia, Aula CAM and Sala de exposiciones El Martillo
CAM Murcia, Central Murcia capital locations
The CAM is the Caja Mediterráneo, who sponsor many of the arts programmes we enjoy in the Capital of Murcia so much through their Obra Social programme. There are 2 main places in the capital where their events take place, in what´s called the Aula CAM, which has an auditorium and is used for concerts, performances and conferences and also their main exhibition Sala which is in the Glorieta de España, the main plaza in front of the Town Hall of Murcia.
Both are within a 2 minute walk of the Glorieta underground car parking in front of the town hall, along the riverbank, the easiest parking space for those driving into the capital from outside.
Sala de Exposiciones El Martillo
This is located in the Glorieta de España, which is the large plaza in front of Murcia Town Hall. From the underground car park, walk up the steps and turn right, and you´ll see the exhibiiton sala at the far end of the Plaza in the bottom of the imposing buildings which fringe the Plaza.
Telephone number is 968 22 85 65
Normal exhibition hours
Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm
Sundays 11am to 2pm
Monday closed
NB. There are not always exhibitions in the sala, and hours can vary if there´s a major fiesta, so check if you´re making a special journey to see something.
Use the map link below for the cathedral, as it´s literally next door.

The map link takes you through to the cathedral, as Calle Salzillo doesn´t come up where its meant to, so the best directions are to walk around the back of the Cathedral on the left hand side and you´ll find it there. There is a small Plaza at the back of the cathedral and the Aula is just there. If it´s your first time, write down AULA CAM on a piece of paper and someone will point you in the right direction.
Nearest parking
Basically, follow the signpost from the main Murcia ringroad which says "Murcia Centro, " and this takes you down along the riverbank with the botanical gardens of the Malecon on the right hand side. Take note on the left, as there is another underground car park here by the Veronicas marketplace and should the Glorieta carpark be full, this is a useful fallback, so check to see if there are places available as you pass, just in case.
You´ll come to a set of lights just before the bridge on the right. At this point if you want to go back and park in the Veronicas carpark, get in the right hand lane and you can cross the carriageway by turning towards the bridge, then looping back, you´ll see what we mean. Be warned though, the second level down is very low and high cars can´t get in there.
If you want to carry on to the Glorieta car park, stay in the right hand lane and just as you pass the bridge, you´ll see the underground car park right in front of you.
It´s literally a 2 minute drive from the ringroad.
If you walk through between the imposing buildings which fringe the Plaza this takes you into Plaza Belluga, and the first thing you´ll come to is the tourist information office, so you can stop off and pick up a map.
