Banksy and other street art legends arrive in San Pedro del Pinatar
The Barón de Benifayó Museum has launched a new exhibition of the Murcia Street Art Project
Murcia Street Art Project is on a mission to change the way people think about graffiti. They believe that this type of urban expression is not only most certainly not vandalism, but rather a legitimate art form that deserves recognition and respect. To this end, the forward-thinking group has organised an exciting new exhibition in San Pedro del Pinatar called Breaking the Moulds, which features works by some of the world's top street artists.
The exhibition is taking place at the Barón de Benifayó Museum until May 26 and it's a must-see for anyone interested in urban art. With more than 20 pieces on display, it's a massive showcase of talent, featuring legendary artists like Blek Le Rat, Seen and Banksy. Yes, you read that right – Banksy! The mysterious British artist is known for his challenging and thought-provoking works, and his piece in this exhibition is no exception.
But it's not all about Banksy. The exhibition also includes works by other renowned artists like Jeff Aerosol, DALeast, Aboudia and Bicicleta Sem Freio. And let's not forget the talented Spanish graffiti artists who are representing their country, including Mr Trazo and Boa Mistura.
What's really special about this exhibition is the diversity of nationalities represented. With seven different countries included, it's truly an international celebration of urban art. And yet, despite the variety, the exhibition manages to feel cohesive and well-curated. That's thanks to the expertise of curator Darío Vigueras, who has done an amazing job of bringing all these talents together under one roof.
According to the organisers, this is a unique opportunity to see works by some of the biggest names in street art in one place, and to experience one of the most exciting exhibitions to hit the Region of Murcia this year.

The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar has one principal tourist information office which is open throughout the year, and then other tourist information points which open during the peak summer months. Due to its location on the fringes of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean coastline, San Pedro del Pinatar has a period of intense summer tourism activity during the peak summer months, although is popular with retirees of all nationalities out of peak season.
Much of the tourism activity is directed into these peak months, although the Salinas natural park and health tourism hotels in San Pedro del Pinatar make this a popular destination throughout the year.
