August 3 to 7 Full moon classical music concerts in Aguilas

Opera singers including Lisette Oropesa and talented pianists perform at the Castle of San Juan in Águilas

Águilas is once again hosting a series of summer ‘full moon’ concerts showcasing classical piano recitals and opera singers, with the 2023 event taking place on the nights of August 3, 4, 6 and 7.

The venue for the concerts, which all start at 10.30pm, is the Castle of San Juan, which stands atop the promontory above the town centre and port of Águilas, with the exception of the recital by North American soprano Lisette Oropesa on August 6.

August 3 – The performance features Laura Rodríguez Moreno (violin), David Apellániz Martínez (cello) and Carlos Apellániz Martínez (piano).

August 4 – Guitarists Ausías and Rubén Parejo.

August 6 – Lisette Oropesa is accompanied by Rubén Fernández Aguirre at the piano in the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas.

August 7 – Pianists John Lee and Román Fediurko.

One of the most spectacular events in the season actually takes place before the first concert, when a grand piano is airlifted to the castle for the evening performances!
