Click HereOn Thursday 19th March 2020 a government Order was published on Spain’s Official State Bulletin (BOE) decreeing the temporary closure to the public of tourist accommodation establishments including hotels, campsites and all other accommodation in the sector.
The only exception to the order, which is in response to the coronavirus emergency, concerns those tourist establishments with long-term guests who, when the state of emergency was decreed on 14th March, were already in residence as guests for a long period. They will be allowed to remain open to the public as long as the guests have essential facilities such as bathrooms within their own living areas, but no new guests can be accepted until the suspension is lifted.
It is decreed that the closure of tourist accommodation must be completed as soon as establishments no longer have any customers to serve and within a maximum of seven calendar days, starting on the date of publication in the BOE, and Ginés Desiderio Navarro, the councillor for Tourism in Águilas, reports that all establishments concerned in the municipality are being adequately informed. At the same time, information is being produced in various languages in order to inform their guests of the situation.
