Click HereThe Playa del Pozo is one of a long series of unspoilt and picturesque beaches and coves which lie on the eastern coast of the municipality between the headland of Cabo Cope in the south and the Playa de la Galera, which marks the boundary with Lorca a few kilometres further north.
This is a wild, natural cove, 30 metres long and 6 metres wide, and the surface is sand with fine pebbles although there are rocks under the water a few metres offshore.
As is only to be expected there are no services on offer, as those who prefer this type of beach will be pleased to hear, and beachgoers should be prepared to take everything required for the day with them.
This is one of a string of beaches along a coastal track which can be accessed from the RM-D15 road: the northern end of the track is best reached by heading off the road at the bar-restaurant El Pocico and following tracks across farmland down to the coast, while the southern end heads back up to the road at Playa del Rafal. The driving on this route is far from conventional, but if taken slowly is not especially dangerous and off-road vehicles are not a necessity! It's best to park by Playa de la Rambla Elena and walk along the coast.
These are definitely beaches for lovers of nature and landscapes which are practically untouched by man and in this stretch of beaches it doesn´t really matter which of the coves is selected, as occupancy will be low even in peak season.
This is the 31st beach in the series of 36 Águilas beaches which run along the 28 kilometres of Águilas coast, working from the Almería coastline in the west down to the Lorca municipality and offer both urban and wild beaches.

Follow the map down to the Playa Rambla de Elena then follow the coastline up to the next beach along, Playa del Pozo. This is the easiest way to access this beach.
