ARCHIVED - 18th December to 29th February, Orígenes art exhibition at the Palacio Almudí in Murcia
A multi-disciplinary review of the last 40 years of Spanish history seen through art
An exhibition entitled “Orígenes” which is being held at the Palacio Almudí in the city of Murcia from 18th December 2019, presents an interesting perspective on the recent history of Spain, tracing the developments since the transition to democracy 40 years ago through works of art.
Among the artists featured are Miquel Barceló, Antoni Tàpies, Juan Muñoz, Eduardo Arroyo, Eusebio Sempere, Cristina Iglesias and Luis Gordillo, and in total there are 213 works by 123 artists exhibited. These include paintings, sculpture, photography, videos, and installation and digital art, all of them belonging to the Fundación Caja Mediterráneo.
The collection on display is divided into four sections, dealing with the beginning of the transition in the 1970s, the boom of the 80s, the doubts and economic problems of the 90s and the 21st century.
“Orígenes” officially opens on 18th December at 20.00 and can then be visited at the Palacio Almudí from Monday to Saturday between 10.00 and 14.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00 and on Sundays and public holidays from 11.00 to 14.00.
